One of the many things we love about Chicago weddings is that we get to see some of the grandest, most beautiful ballroom weddings. In some of the other markets we work in (Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Denver), ballroom weddings aren’t as opulent. The variety makes us excited, and we spend a good amount of time swooning over the architectural details, classic color palettes, and cityscape photos!
One of our favorite things about this couple was their joy. They smiled all day, and we would catch them canoodling and embracing throughout the afternoon and evening. They’re really in tune with each other and have a great time with one another. You can see it by the way they look at each other- like they’re the only ones in the room.
We also loved the way Nora’s Dad reacted to seeing her for the first time. From the first look to the final toast, he was so proud and smitten by his little girl. And elated by Nora and Chris’ union.
Nora and Chris’ beautiful church wedding ceremony, followed by the wedding reception, at School of the Art Institute Ballroom was definitely a show stopper for us! Both venues are remarkably beautiful.
Because Nora serenaded Chris during the reception to Etta James’ classic, “At Last,” we leave you with these timelessly beautiful lyrics…
“At last my love has come along
My lonely days are over, and life is like a song
Oh yeah yeah at last the skies above are blue
My heart was wrapped up in clover, the night I looked at you
I found a dream, that I can speak to
A dream that I, can call my own
I found a thrill, to press my cheek to
A thrill that I have never known
Oh yeah yeah, you smiled you smiled and then the spell was cast
And here we are, in Heaven
For you are mine at last”
