Connie & Kent’s Nicollet Island Pavilion Wedding was a blast and a half! Oh my gosh, just thinking back on the day gives us the giggles. Their wedding party was hilarious and Connie made the day so much fun- she’s a hoot!
Connie and Kent had a clear vision for the wedding day- and much of it stemmed from Connie’s love for succulents. You see, Connie and Kent grew all of the succulents for the bouquets, boutonnieres, head table centerpiece, and the table place cards at their house in Minneapolis. Kent is a landscape architect and constructed the wedding ceremony arbor along with providing the 12′ tall trees at the reception! Another fun fact- Connie has 21,000 followers on Instagram for her succulents?? She’s crazy talented–you gotta check her out!
After their first look and bridal party photos, they hosted a beautiful riverfront ceremony. The weather was perfect, and the vows were sweet- just what any planner/coordinator can hope for! Michael Shynes played incredible music for the ceremony and continued into the cocktail hour. He was SO GOOD! After everyone had enjoyed libations and munchies from Mintahoe (they never disappoint), it was time to get the reception + party on!
The guests had a visual delight with every table being adorned with stunning florals that included Connie’s succulents. The hanging floral arrangements were fabulous too. There was also an impressive floral wall that acted as the photo booths backdrop. It was super unique and exquisitely crafted. Connie’s dear friend, Alex definitely put her heart in the construction of all of the florals!
We were so fortunate to be part of Connie and Kent’s big day- it was truly memorable. A little birdie told us this was going to be featured in an upcoming print magazine (squeeeee). So stay tuned for those details (and the rest of their story 😉 )!
