Chicago Micro Wedding at the Peninsula Hotel | Megan + Charlie
Back in March 2020, Megan & Charlie were finalizing all of their details for their wedding for over 200 people. Then plans changed suddenly for the couple as COVID-19 surged the nation, and mandatory restrictions were put in place that no longer allowed them to have the wedding day they were almost done planning. After postponing to Summer 2020, nothing had changed, so the couple then postponed a second time to February 2021 to be on the safe side. However, no one predicted that the pandemic would still be preventing large events, and the couple was left with another decision: do they postpone the entire thing for a third time, or do they have a micro wedding on February 6, 2021 and postpone the larger reception to Summer 2021? Well this question was quickly answered by the couple, as they just couldn’t wait any longer to be Husband & Wife, so the planning began for the Chicago micro wedding to get them married!
Our Chicago wedding planner Ashley absolutely loved working with them. Although Megan + Charlie faced many challenges and heartache at times with how COVID-19 was effecting their wedding, this couple never lost their humor, and never lost what was truly most important; getting married & starting their lives together.
Their February 6, 2021 micro wedding was truly a perfect Chicago winter wedding with the snow falling beautifully. They started off each of their days getting ready in the fabulous Peninsula Hotel Chicago with those they love most! The couple then did their first look and went off for some photos before they said “I do”. Their ceremony of 25 people at Old St. Patrick’s Church was just wonderful as the officiant made the audience laugh as well as tear up with special moments about the bride & groom and their journey to get to this day. After the wedding had concluded, they went off with their closest for some more photos, and then enjoyed a lovely intimate dinner at Mastro’s Chicago! After the wedding, the couple said they absolutely loved how they felt on their big day, and would not have changed a thing. It was just perfect, and we cannot wait to celebrate with all of their loved ones later this year! xo
