Minneapolis Wedding Planner | Bold, Moody Wedding Inspiration at Hotel Ivy

A plethora of bold hues in the moodiest of tones, this shoot was all about dramatic details that would make any couple stand out. Our style inspiration was a little bit boho, a touch whimsical, a tad gypsy and 100% luxury. From the calligraphed metallic invitation suite to the incredibly detailed floral shrug and the luxurious table decor, every detail was crafted with flair.

Our model rocked two incredible goddess style gowns- a more traditional style with fitted, scoop neck bodice and soft flowy skirt. As well as a vintage modern option with an illusion neckline, lace detail and beaded back, with soft tulle overlay on the skirt.

Studio C created an amazing floral shrug & headpiece to accent the traditional gown. The bold and beautiful headpiece was a twist on a floral crown- with burgundy peonies and cascading amaranth. The shrug is a fantastic bouquet alternative that stays with you all night!

Invitations were crafted in copper and lavender with the most sensational hand lettering.

The hotel Ivy was the perfect upscale, modern venue for this shoot. They boast amazing views, gorgeous natural light, and super clean architecture.

The tablescape was an opulent array of black, gold and deep red/ burgundy and deep purple tones.

The sky-high candelabras and gold cloche accent with dramatically textured floral arrangements of peonies, purple cabbage, spider mums, hydrangea, amaranthus, greenery, ferns, seeded eucalyptus and ranunculus was breathtaking.

The textured gold chargers were both anchored and accented with black linen, accompanied by elaborate gold table runners. The combination exuded the moody vibe while maintaining a classic luxury feel.

The single tier cake was hand crafted with a deep aquamarine blue marbled fondant that looked too scrumptious to eat! It was a striking contrast with the purple and red hues and paired great with the bubbly display.

We included several behind the scenes photos because we think it's important for our couples to see how much work goes into a styled shoot! We do them because we love them- but there really are like mini-weddings! We LOVED working with this vendor team and appreciate all of their amazingly hard work in making such a beautiful, unique vision come to life!

Be sure to check out the Artfully Wed feature too!  And please PIN away! You'll see a variety of angles for some of the various design and decor elements- this was quite a dynamic shoot.

Chicago Wedding Planner | Ovation Chicago, Alyssa & Brian's Spring Wedding

Alyssa and Brian hosted their spring wedding at Ovation. This wedding and event venue was once a foundry, but is now a modern, industrial loft with so many beautiful architectural details that we love! It's also super versatile and includes a ton of "extras" with the rental (always a nice perk).

We love how personal the day was to the couple. Alyssa created her own decor items- including her flowers. She included a locket on the clutch of the bouquet with a photo of her dad (cue the tears) and walked down the aisle with her Mom.

They duo also danced to "Better Together" by Us the Duo (instead of Jack Johnson). It was a great twist on a well known song.

Chicago Wedding Planner | Ravenswood Event Center Wedding, Amanda & Jason

Amanda and Jason hosted their Chicago wedding at the Ravenswood Event Center.  It was the perfect location for their 300+ guests & super festive Jewish wedding!

The bride rocked her fashion-forward dress with black shoulder bow. To us, it was an incredible, modern mix between Audrey Hepburn and Sex in The City. The classic black and white combination, with the stunning fit-n-flare shape, was show stopping- a statement piece that Amanda rocked (or, as we said on IG, SLAYED)!

The wedding design & decor had a Kate Spade flair - black & white with pops of vibrant, spring color. We loved all the greenery too- it looked great with the exposed brick walls and added great contrast to the black & white.

If you aren't familiar with Ravenswood, it's an urban, industrial loft style wedding venue with a casual, eclectic vibe. Although it would be considered an open floorplan option, they have the venue broken up into three unique spaces- which makes it great for hosting the entire wedding day's festivities on site, while not having to host it in the same room. The couple held their ceremony in the Atrium & Loft (it has the most ah-mazing windows), which they immediately followed with a cocktail hour.  The dinner & dancing in the Showroom space- which has a really cool retro, vintage vibe (it's actually home to one of the world’s exclusive collections of vintage European & American sports cars).

For the reception, the focus was the PARTY! The couple had a diverse menu with stations, and a live band kept guests entertained all night! Everyone had a blast- including us!
