Boy meets girl. Girl meets boy. Life happens, love lasts. This is exactly what happened for Laura and Andre.
Laura’s version of the story is better than we could ever write, so we thought we’d share her words with you! “ “Andre and I met at a summer camp that we both had been going to since we were 6 years old. Boys and girls weeks were separate at the camp so we didn't meet until the summer I became a staff member; I was 17 and he was 15. After the week I met him ended and Andre went home, I decided I was way too intrigued by this guy to never see him again. Andre and I exchanged letters (yes actual mailed letters!) that summer and began a friendship and most certainly my first real crush. The summer ended and so did a lot of our communication. Over the years, Andre would drift back into my life via sporadic text or phone call. Fast forward to 2011 and Andre had just graduated college and moved to Milwaukee for his first job. During his packing he rediscovered the letters he had saved from that summer as teenagers. Andre messaged me and we picked up our friendship where we had left off. Soon Andre asked me to fly to Milwaukee to see him; so I flew to see a guy I hadn't laid eyes on in 6 years expecting nothing and hoping for everything. Well, I got everything I had hoped for! “Laura and Andre knew that they wanted a DIY wedding. They didn’t want to spend more than they felt necessary, but they wanted to splurge on the details that were worth it them. Venue being one of them. They selected the Mayowood Stone Barn, which is just stunning!
The couple chose a romantic vintage theme, with pale mint and blush pink for colors. Which may we add, we just LOVED! It was heavenly. Not a detail was missed, not an experience forgotten.
One of the neatest projects that this craft couple spent months on was the origami crane backdrop used during their ceremony. Can you believe they made 1,000 of them!? Talk about incredible dedication and love. It was a vision! Their ceremony happened to be officiated by one of their best friends too- which was such a special touch. We adore personalized ceremonies and theirs was a tearjerker!
Laura and Andre’s friends and family were such a FUN group! They celebrated and dance with the couple until the stars came out and the venue shut down. Nobody wanted the perfect night to end- but they all agreed with was one of the most memorable events they had attended.
